Volunteer at the Neighbourhood Gathering

The next big event we have coming up is the Neighbourhood Gathering on Tatum Street on Sunday 19th September. The Tatum Street Party is a regular local fixture and we’re excited to be able to hold a face-to-face event after the pandemic prevented our usual festivities last year.

This year will be a bit different. The Neighbourhood Gathering is an opportunity for all the residents, hub volunteers, riders and partners – old and new – who have worked to support one another to come together. For others it will be a chance to reconnect, or to get out and meet new neighbours for the first time.

We need your help to make this event happen. Come and join the team!

We have advance volunteer opportunities starting on Monday 13th September as well as multiple roles on the day, the details of which can be found below. You can sign up for any role via the button here. You may sign up for as many different roles as you like.

On the day:

Set-up Team

You’ll be part of the essential site crew – helping to set up for the Gathering, putting up gazebos, setting out chairs and tables, putting out signs etc. Having done all the hard work, you can then relax during the event itself!

Sunday 19th September from 10am.

Event Stewards

Event stewards are general helpers. Duties include directing people, keeping an eye out on equipment, keeping people safe, occasional litter picking if required. May involve a fair bit of standing around being generally useful! High Viz jacket supplied.

Sunday 19th September from 12.30pm and 2pm.

Stalls

Helping on stalls: giving out information and running activities. A talking role where you’ll get to meet lots of new people. You’ll be given a briefing at the start of the session.

Sunday 19th September from 12.30pm and 2pm.

First Aiders

We need volunteers with a valid certificate in Emergency First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work to be designated First Aiders. First Aid volunteers will be based on the information stall and can also help our front of house team give out maps and answer queries.

Sunday 19th September from 12.30pm and 2pm.

Food & Drink

Helping out with the BBQ or serving tea and cake. (Food and Hygiene certificate useful, but not
essential).

Sunday 19th September from 12.30pm and 2pm.

Clear Up Team

All hands on deck for the clear up. Usually quite quick work afterwards: clearing up litter, putting away gazebos, chairs and tables etc.

Sunday 19th September from 4pm.

You can sign up for any of the above roles via the button here.
