Do you have a few spare evenings in your year to get involved with your local community and join our team?
Pembroke House is looking to recruit three new trustees to join our board and we want to hear from you.
Whilst we have been working within Walworth for over 130 years, over the past ten years we have grown significantly, launching ambitious programs as we strive to empower communities and individuals to create a neighbourhood where everyone can flourish.
Now is a crucial moment in our organisation’s history as we reconsider our vision and mission. That means it is a really exciting time to join Pembroke House and help us steer a course into the future.
As we grow and change as a charity, it is so important that we have trustees who can hold us to account and help us develop.
We are working towards a Board that better represents the Walworth neighbourhood.
So we are looking for a range of different skills and backgrounds from our new Trustees, and are particularly keen to hear from people of the global majority, and women who are currently under-represented on our board, and – crucially –people who live within the three wards of North Walworth, Faraday and Newington.
Whilst we know we would benefit from experience in Charity Finance, Fundraising, Media/Communications, and the Food Industry, we are first and foremost looking for people who care. What is most important is having the passion and willingness to get involved and to want to help us make a difference.
Previous board/trustee experience is not necessary and we welcome applications from all ages and backgrounds. We are committed to making any adjustments we can to ensure that people can join us – whether it’s childcare, travel or anything else, just let us know!
As one of our current trustees Peter mentioned at our AGM, ‘if you can read and can ask questions, you can do this job!’.
The deadline to apply is the 4th January 2024.
