A new season at the Living Room!

It might be difficult to put the summer behind us, but we’re thrilled to leap into a brand new season here at The Walworth Living Room! As we enter Autumn, we’re happy to share an exciting lineup of new activities designed to spark creativity, connection and community action.

We’re proud to be one of the featured venues of this year’s Open House Festival! The city-wide celebration of London’s architecture and neighbourhoods is a great opportunity to make new discoveries and explore parts of the city that may have flown under your radar. We can’t wait to throw open the doors of All Saints Hall and invite the public to share in our journey of creating a Living Room for the neighbourhood.

In the Living Room we love to get creative! Local artist Tara Schwarze-Chintapatla will be facilitating a drawing and painting workshop to spark inspiration for a community mural at the newly revitalised Nursery Row Park. This month we’re also launching the Artists’ Table– a monthly gathering space for artists, makers and creatives in the neighbourhood to connect, share and provide support for one another. Wherever you are on your artistic journey, this is an open space for you! For those of you who love to get creative with your appearance, our new Hairspression workshops are a great way to explore different hairstyles and looks.

The Living Room is also a  place for local action, where people can come together to discuss issues in the neighbourhood and act together for the benefit of the community. We’re delighted to host the launch of the Walworth Community Law Project, a program led by the Centre for the Advancement and Development of Human Rights to train people to become Community Lawyers who can help provide legal advice to people struggling with issues such as housing, migration and employment. We are also hosting a meet-and-greet with Cllr Stephanie Cryan, and later in the month there will be a chance for residents on the Aylesbury Estate with questions about ongoing development to meet with MP Miatta Fahnbulleh and representatives from Southwark Council.

There’s much more happening in September, so make sure to check our activities calendar regularly so you don’t miss out!

We rely on the kindness of people like you.
